Everyone schedules a bit different, and as a result not one view is right for everyone. We encourage you to explore the different views within ZoomShift and find the one that works best for you.
In the upper left corner of the schedule you will notice a dropdown link that changes the sorting of the schedule. Switching this option will change what (employee, position, or location) is displayed on the y-axis of the schedule.
Many organizations find sorting by employees to be the most useful. This view is a bit different than the other two. When sorting by employees you are able to do the following:
- You can see and edit availability.
- You can respond to time off requests and shift swaps.
- You can see the hours scheduled per employee.
In the upper left corner of the schedule there are pill shaped buttons that can be used to filter the schedule. Clicking on one of these buttons will display a dropdown list of all the correspoding positions, locations, or employees.
When you have filters applied to your schedule any shifts that don’t match these filters will be faded out. These faded shifts will not be included in the totals at the bottom of the schedule. Also, if applicable, the rows of the schedule may be filtered down. For example, if you have the schedule sorted by position and you apply a position filter then some of the rows will be hidden.
Filters apply to all actions on the schedule.
All actions on the schedule including publishing, clearing, copying, templating, etc. take into account the filters that you have applied. This makes it very easy to publish a specific set of shifts, or to create a template for just one position!
In the upper right corner of the schedule is the date range picker. You can switch between day, week, or month views. The left and right arrows will jump forward or back, and the calendar icon in the middle will allow you to select a specific date.
